Care and Share maintains food gardens, a greenhouse and an orchard at our Colorado Springs warehouse. Volunteers are encouraged to join us daily and we host “coffee breaks” the first and third Thursdays at 10:30 and “lunch under the pergola” the second and fourth Thursdays at 12:00. (Bring your own lunch).
SNAP or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, is the new name for the federal Food Stamp Program. The name change reflects the focus on nutrition and putting healthy foods within reach for low-income households.
A Mobile Food Pantry can transport up to 16,000 pounds of food. A typical mobile pantry distributionlasts two hours and provides 100 to 150 families with nutritious food to help them make ends meet, as well as access to information about nutrition, food stamps, social and other services in the area.
