Good morning friends of Care and Share!
Want to volunteer at Care and Share, but the weekday afternoon and Saturday shifts don’t fit into your schedule? We are excited to announce Thursday evening shifts are now available! The new Thursday shift started March 24th, 2016, and so far has had a promising turnout of eager volunteers each week.
After volunteering one weekend and sorting more than 500 boxes with their boy scout troop, Amy Rydland and her sons decided to continue volunteering at Care and Share. “I feel like time devoted here is worthwhile and a great learning opportunity. Makes you really think of the positive impact on the community and how many people would be hungry without the work of Care and Share.”
Luckily, Thursday nights work perfectly for this family’s busy lifestyle. “During the weekdays, the boys have school, and on Saturday they often have sporting events, so Thursday nights are perfect for us.”
Another volunteer, 9th grade Colorado Springs School student Kolbi Lee, discovered the new shifts on Care and Share’s website. With the strong belief that everyone should have access to food, he signed up for the Thursday night shift because it worked well with his school schedule.
As always, a huge thank you to all of our volunteers that come together around the shared belief that no one should go hungry!
