Although Jonathan McWilliams is a newer member to the Care and Share volunteer team, he is quickly approaching the status of a veteran with his diligent work in the warehouse.
Jonathan is a Peer Coordinator in area 701 where food is sorted by volunteers. His job is to guide other volunteers who come in and answer any questions they may ask. Jonathan is a doer who likes to “get things done.” If anything else needs to be accomplished in the warehouse, Jonathan is the man to do it. Never will you find him “sitting around and twiddling his thumbs” when he’s around. His increasing experience allows him to effectively get any job that staff asks of him done.
Jonathan is drawn in by Care and Share’s mission to aid the community and the people who he interacts with whenever he comes in. “I like the camaraderie here. I feel like people really care and are here for good reasons,” he says when asked what he loved the most about Care and Share. But ultimately, the reason Jonathan finds time to consistently come in to volunteer is because he wants to “help out the community and do a good service.”
Without generous people like Jonathan, Care and Share’s efforts could not be possible. To learn more about volunteering at Care and Share, please click here.
