Good morning friends of Care and Share!

This morning in our leadership team meeting, we received an update from our Programs staff about the number of sites we are running through our various programs. We currently have 25 Healthy Kids Club sites (this program provides healthy snacks and meals to children after school); 38 Send Hunger Packing sites (this program provides backpacks full of food to children at risk of hunger during the weekend when school food is not available); 47 TEFAP sites (The Emergency Food Assistance Program-a federally administered program that provides much needed food to low-income families and individuals); and 30 CSFP sites (the Commodity Supplemental Food Program-another federally administered program that provides food to low-income seniors).

Through TEFAP alone, we  serve an average of 25,000 individuals each month! These programs are just a few of the ways that we reach our Southern Colorado neighbors in need throughout 31 counties.
