Stamp Out Hunger volunteers!
Stamp Out Hunger is Care and Share’s largest single-day food drive each year. On Saturday, May 9th, letter carriers across Southern Colorado will collect food donations in order to provide assistance to our neighbors in need.
In order to prepare for this event, these wonderful volunteers stapled 10,000 plastic bags to Stamp Out Hunger postcards. Your letter carrier will put either these plastic bags, brown paper bags, or a post card in your mailbox today or tomorrow as a reminder to participate.
This food drive is especially important for the children that we serve. Summer is the time of year when hunger reaches its peak because children lose access to their school meals.
To help alleviate summer hunger, simply put a bag of non-perishable food by your mailbox and your letter carrier will pick it up and deliver it Care and Share Food Bank. We are specifically seeking peanut butter, cereal, soup, and tuna.
Don’t let the rain stop you from leaving your food donation by your mailbox. Just remember this little jingle:
