What’s in the Warehouse?

Good morning friends of Care and Share!

Today, our staff took a bus to Denver for a Feeding Colorado conference where all of the staff from each Colorado food bank will be present for a day of learning and fun.

Feeding Colorado is made up of the five Feeding America food banks that work together to provide food to all 64 counties that comprise our state. The graphic below outlines Care and Share’s 31-county service area.

Each food bank has a designated service area so our services aren’t duplicated. Click here to see an interactive map of the state of Colorado depicting the food bank territories. There are 200 Feeding America food banks in the country that together provide food to every county in the U.S.

Feeding Colorado’s purpose is to coordinate and enhance food resources among the state’s food banks and to support the mission of Feeding America. The five food banks distribute food to more than 1,500 nonprofit agencies state-wide that provide meals and services to people in need. The diversity of agencies include food pantries, day-care centers, safe houses for victims of  abuse, soup kitchens, residential treatment centers, senior and youth programs, and more.

We are looking forward to this event and to all of the things that we will learn and share with our fellow food bankers!
