On Monday, January 18th, Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado honored Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy by making it a “day on,” instead of a day-off. 60 volunteers came together on this annual day of service to continue the example Dr. King set by serving others.
V olunteers gathered and worked together to pack 784 Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) boxes that will go directly to senior citizens in need. A group from SCHEELS came together to assemble 11,699 pounds of snack boxes for our neighbors, and American Heritage Girls joined and sorted 6,361 pounds of food. A very special thank you to all of our volunteers and groups who helped make an impact in our community in remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr!
