Partners in Hunger Relief

Good morning friends of Care and Share!

Sam’s Club has long been a committed partner in Care and Share’s efforts to end hunger in Southern Colorado, donating meat, deli and bakery products from several store locations to provide fresh food to our Southern Colorado neighbors.

Now, Sam’s Club is adding produce to their donations! Since February 1st, Care and Share drivers have been visiting Sam’s Club locations three times each week, picking up fresh fruit and vegetables in addition to the usual meat, deli and bakery donations.

Produce that may not be as ‘pretty’ as what shoppers usually buy and would otherwise be thrown away is making its way to Care and Share so that our partner agencies can provide more healthy food to those we serve. More than 25,000 pounds of produce has been donated since February, providing 20,850 meals to people struggling with hunger. Sam’s Club’s commitment to fighting hunger is helping Care and Share get more nutritious food than ever to more people in more places!

Thanks for reading and have a great day:)
