2020 Hunger Action Month
September is Hunger Action Month - a nationwide campaign Feeding America food banks host across their local communities. The purpose is to raise awareness around the issue of hunger and mobilize our community members and organizations to take action all throughout the month of September.
There are a few different ways you can become a Hunger Action Month Hero:
- Make a donation directly to our Hunger Action Month campaign. We have a special opportunity this year to further our impact this year. The Gill Foundation will MATCH every $1 donated during the month of September - up to $50,000!
- Host a virtual fund drive! We will make is easy for you by setting up your fundraising page and providing a toolkit to help promote your drive. You can set your own personal goal and ask your network of friends, family and colleagues to help you reach it. Interested in getting started? Email Mary Alice, Project Manager, at MaryAlice@careandshare.org or contact her at 719-434-4677.
- Host a food drive! Collect food donations in person. We'll provide you with Care and Share bins. Drop off donations on September 10 - during our inaugural Hunger Action Day Community-Wide Food Drive - or at the end of September. To get started, email Mary Alice, Project Manager, at MaryAlice@careandshare.org or contact her at 719-434-4677.
