Building Pathways for a Better Community

July 8, 2019

This spring and summer, Seth Hodson generously volunteered to renovate Care and Share’s hillside orchard pathways as part of the volunteer work he does for the Eagle Scouts. Over the course of five months, Seth planned the details of the project, and this June, he spent around six hours renovating the area. The improvements that he made to the orchard pathways have been immeasurably helpful, making it easier for volunteers to access the upper level of the orchard to water and amend our trees.

Since joining the Scouts in the first grade as a Tiger Cub, Seth is now working towards achieving his Eagle Scout rank. He has dedicated himself to countless volunteer projects for several organizations, and he first volunteered with Care and Share three years ago. He says he was inspired by how much work Care and Share does and the large impact we have made on the community, and hoped he would help us make an ever better impact!

For Seth, volunteering and giving back to the community means investing himself in the community’s goals. Once his project in our orchard was complete, Seth was relieved to see what he’d been able to accomplish, and could barely believe the before and after pictures. Thank you, Seth, for your commitment to Care and Share and making our orchard a more accessible place for the community!
