2017 Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive a Huge Success!

Good morning friends of Care and Share,

We have some exciting news to share with you as we head into the weekend. The results for Stamp Out Hunger are in and our hearts are full! Our caring community donated more than 72, 000 pounds of nonperishable food last Saturday, which equates to more than 60,000 meals! All of it will be distributed throughout Southern Colorado to our neighbors in need.

We couldn’t have done this without the community. Everyone who put a bag or multiple bags of food out by their mailbox played a huge role in the success of the event. Our letter carriers were super heroes, who worked extra hard to collect all of the donations. We also want to recognize the dozens of volunteers from Colorado Springs Utilities and Stetson Elementary School who helped us sort through the food donations well into the late hours on Saturday night.

This was the 25th anniversary of Stamp Out Hunger. Every year, we are humbled to witness the generosity of our community. Thank you for sharing in our belief that no one should go hungry!
