Did you know Care and Share Food Bank partners with the Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Pueblo? We specifically work in conjunction with the Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters program- also known as HIPPY. The program focuses on teaching kids how to live healthy, happy, and productive lives.
Not only are we able to provide meals, but we also have the opportunity to teach kids and families about shopping for healthy food on a budget through our Cooking Matters classes.
“A lot of parents think eating healthy is expensive,” said HIPPY Program Director Gerald Gallegos. “Cooking Matters shows them how to cook healthy meals on a small budget.” He says the parents are always thrilled to see their kids enjoy healthy food and they get excited to take the food home to cook. We are honored to be a part of this amazing program!
