As we come to the end of the calendar year, we find ourselves wondering where the time has gone, and also asking ourselves if we accomplished what we hoped we would. Sometimes the answer to that question is “yes” and sometimes it is “no.” Sometimes the answer is simply, “not quite yet.”

We’ve been journeying many months now on this path that we call Within Reach, a plan to provide access to food for everyone in need throughout Southern Colorado. We’ve made huge strides and we are closer to the prize than ever before. With the help of our amazing partner agencies, volunteers, food donors, and financial supporters, we have indeed accomplished our mantra of “more food to more people in more places.”

Little by little, or some days in huge leaps, we are coming together to make the world a better place. Ensuring food for all of our neighbors in need is a vitally important step towards achieving freedom from hunger. It is a huge effort that will take each one of us investing all that we can to achieve the goal.

As the year comes to a close, we at Care and Share look back with gratitude and look to the future with hope, for all that you have accomplished, and for all that you will make possible.
