Within Reach Update

“There’s nothing impossible in this world for the heart full of desires.” Abraham Lincoln

Six months into our five-year plan, Within Reach, we are becoming more and more focused on the prize. We know that we can provide access to our 171,000 neighbors in Southern Colorado who are facing food insecurity. Our hearts at Care and Share are full of desire to ensure that everyone has the food they need to thrive.

As we share our Within Reach plans with the community, we are continually encouraged and inspired by all of the people who stand with us in our belief that that no one should go hungry. Volunteers, financial supporters, and partner agencies are enthusiastically getting on board and forging ahead with us in the fight against hunger. We’ve already made great strides towards our goal through process improvements, fundraising, and volunteer engagement.

We have met a few people who think we might be taking on the impossible. They believe that providing access to food for all of our neighbors in need might not be achievable. We appreciate those skeptics. They cause us to stop and think, evaluate our work, and make sure we are doing everything in our power to achieve Within Reach. In time, we will turn our skeptics into believers. Our work won’t happen overnight, but we are building successes each and every day, and with your support, we will continue to make gains for all of our Southern Colorado neighbors in need.
