What’s in the Warehouse?

Good morning friends of Care and Share,

Today, we have a bunch of unassembled boxes! These boxes are how we get the food (with the help of pallets, forklifts, and trucks) to our partner agencies that serve our neighbors in need. Each box will contain pantry staples to aid in the creation of simple, healthy meals.

Below, you can see some of the boxes assembled and stored in racks at our warehouse (left side).

The new shipment of boxes will be used to pack food that we receive from community food drives and from local retail store donations that we pick up throughout the week. They will also be used during our first-ever Sort Out Hunger for the Holidays event!

As the holiday season approaches, we are busy preparing to serve our neighbors in need throughout Southern Colorado. On Saturday, November 7th, we will work with hundreds of community members to help us sort and pack food boxes from sun up until sun down. How inspiring!

Although all of our Sort Out Hunger shifts are filled, you can check out other volunteer opportunities by clicking here.

Thanks for reading and have a great day!
