Good morning friends of Care and Share!

Today, Dylan, our Recycling Program Assistant, is emptying bottles of beverages that are unsafe for human consumption in order to recycle the cans. This is truly a labor of love!

Dylan and Randy, our Recycling Program Coordinator, are integral to our zero waste program. We have been recycling food and materials since 2000, and have gained a lot of knowledge and experience along the way. Their combined efforts allow us to divert more than 86% of our waste from landfills. An impressive accomplishment, considering the city of Colorado Springs diverts just 8% of its waste from landfills.

If you haven’t heard, we are going to launch a for-profit business, GoalZero Recycling, that will provide recycling services and solutions to local businesses, corporations, and organizations. Revenue generated from GoalZero will help to sustain Care and Share’s mission for years to come.
