Partnerships, Collaboration, and Peaches:)

Good morning friends of Care and Share!

Did you know that Care and Share is one of five Feeding America food banks in the state? The other four food banks cover the Northern portion of our state (Food Bank of the Rockies also serves the entire state of Wyoming).
Together, the Colorado food banks are called Feeding Colorado. We work  together to ensure that our neighbors at risk of hunger in each of the 64 Colorado counties have access to additional food resources.
The Food Resource Manager from Food Bank of The Rockies recently visited Talbott Farms on behalf of the Feeding Colorado network and negotiated a program to provide the five Colorado food banks with fresh produce at a steeply discounted rate.
As a result, Care and Share recently received 11 pallets of peaches, half of which Talbott Farms donated at no charge.  The peaches were fresh from the Western Slope and smelled wonderful! Talbott is helping us to not only feed Colorado’s hungry individuals, families, children, and seniors, but providing them with nutritious food they may otherwise be unable to afford.

We cannot do our work alone. The dedication of the Feeding Colorado food bank members and the generosity of partners like Talbott Farms make it possible to bring hope and nourishment to those in need.
Thanks for reading and for sharing in our belief that no one should go hungry!
