Good morning friends of Care and Share!

Each Monday morning, our Leadership Team gets together for a quick meeting to update each other about things that happened during the previous week.  Our Monday Minutes posts will share updates from our Agency Relations, Operations, Development, and Programs departments.

Last week, we distributed 415,000 pounds of food!! This is the equivalent of  345,833 meals.

Distributing food on such a large scale has the potential to create A LOT of waste, from shrink wrap, to cardboard, to pallets, to food that is not safe to share with our partner agencies. Care and Share is committed to ensuring that we divert as much waste as we can from landfills, which is why we recycle everything mentioned above.

Despite the fact that we distributed nearly half a million pounds of food last week alone, we only created 35 pounds of trash. Woo hoo!!
