Hi friends of Care and Share!
Why are we wearing orange today? Great question! September is Hunger Action month. Today, food banks across the country are asking the public to wear orange in support of hunger awareness. Orange is a color that sparks attention (think of street cones and construction worker vests). It is a color that says, “PAY ATTENTION TO ME!”
We feel that the issue of hunger is something that needs attention. Currently, 1 in 4 Southern Colorado children are at risk of missing at least one meal a day. This doesn’t have to be a reality. Together, we can solve hunger.
Our staff fully embraces Wear Orange Day 🙂
Share this blog with your friends, family, and co-workers to start a conversation around hunger. Tune in tomorrow to learn more ways to get involved and to see who won our Wear Orange contest!
