How Walmart is Helping us Provide Healthy Meals to Kids and Families Across Southern Colorado

We often say that Care and Share Food Bank is part of the community and belongs to the community. We truly believe that! We would not be able to feed more than 150,000 neighbors in need across Southern Colorado without our incredible donors. That includes our partnership with Walmart and The Walmart Foundation.

Walmart’s State Giving grants have been a vital part of our work for many years and have allowed us to grow our Children’s Nutrition Initiative programs substantially. This past year, The Walmart Foundation gifted Care and Share with $33,000 toward our children’s programs, specifically in the Colorado Springs area. Because of this grant, we have been able to provide more healthy meals to families and kids through Send Hunger Packing and School Pantries. Overall, Walmart is an amazing partner to us and contributes to our work in many ways, including millions of pounds of donated food each year.

“No child should have to worry about where their next meal is coming from. Care and Share Food Bank is working hard to make sure kids and their families have access to healthy meals through our Children’s Programs, like Send Hunger Packing and School Pantries, “ said Care and Share Food Bank President and CEO Lynne Telford. “We are grateful for Walmart’s generosity. The work that we do through these programs is only possible because of the incredible support we receive from our partners, like Walmart.”

Thank you to Walmart and The Walmart Foundation for sharing in our belief that no one should go hungry!
