Good morning friends of Care and Share!
Today, our Programs team is hard at work reviewing applications from those interested in partnering with us to distribute food to children and their families at risk of hunger. We now have a new process, in which potential partner sites submit an application declaring their interest, capacity, and ability to serve those in need. We received 75 applications from interested agencies and organizations throughout our 31-county service area!
Our new, refreshed program is focusing on family hunger rather than child hunger. Although our Send Hunger Packing program was previously adapted to provide food for family meals during the weekends, Healthy Kids Club (our after school snack and meal program) and our Summer Food Service Program have served children only.
We now have several new programs, which are meant to not only meet the need of children and their families, but the partner site and the individual community. We are so excited about this new process and are so grateful to our interested partners! Together, we can solve hunger.
