How it works

At Sunny Side Market, we want our neighbors visit to feel like a comfortable and familiar grocery shopping experience. Here’s what our neighbors experience when they come through our doors.

Gather
We receive donated or low cost food from suppliers, community partners, and federal nutrition programs.

Sort
Our dedicated staff and volunteers sort and organize the food we receive.

Distribute
Food is then supplied to our 282 partner food pantries and distributed to those in need.

What happens at a food bank?

We’re glad you asked. As a food bank, Care and Share works to gather and sort food from multiple sources, distributing to our 282 partners across 31 counties. We make sure food gets to everyone who needs it—wherever they are.
