Service Insights Updates

Agencies are now LIVE on Service Insights on Meal Connect (SIMC)! We are thrilled with this progress and look forward to the launches and trainings scheduled for the coming weeks.

Once your agency has gone live in the SIMC system, you will be able to access reports like these that are specific to your own agency. Check out the document linked below to see what these reports can do for you!

Volunteer Highlight | Garrett's Story
We met Garrett, a student at Colorado State University Pueblo, and his mom during a recent food distribution in partnership with CSU, Mt. Carmel, and the Center for American Values. Through this partnership, we were able to provide food to veterans not just in Pueblo, but in 13 different counties across Southern Colorado!

“I love giving back to our veterans,” Garrett told us. “[Because of them], I developed a deep appreciation for what it means to serve.”

At the distribution, veterans could drive up and receive boxes of non-perishable items and bags of produce which included peppers, watermelons, and onions. Additionally, agencies were coming by throughout the day to pick up pallets of food to take back to the veterans in their communities.

Garrett put it best: “It’s a bountiful harvest.”
IMPORTANT DATES

FOOD HANDLING REMINDER - REFRIGERATOR STORAGE

We love this food storage chart from StateFoodSafety. It not only shows categories of refrigerated food to store above and below each other, but also shows how this aligns with what tem peratures food items should be cooked to. Remember, we also want to keep all food 6 inches off the ground, with no chemical storage nearby.
