This month we are featuring our Purchasing and Agriculture Food Sourcing Coordinator, Kristina Ortiz!

In August I joined the Procurement team here at Care and Share. I am still new to this position, but I still wake up every morning feeling honored and humble to being working with amazing people towards an amazing mission. My role here is the Purchasing and Agriculture Food Sourcing Coordinator. I have a background in purchasing but working with agriculture has been very new and exciting for me. My family has a few farmers, and my late Uncle owned an apple orchard. I remember visiting family as a child but since my father was in the military we moved often, and I never got many of those experiences. However, talking to and planning to meet our local farmers has me very excited about our mission to bring fresh healthy produce to our neighbors as well as, on a personal level, connecting me back to some of the curiosity and knowledge about agriculture I missed out on as a child.

Outside of Care and Share I spend my time with my kiddos. I enjoy cooking and most the time they enjoy what I make. I like to paint, but in my free time you can usually find me cleaning with the music turned up as loud as possible.
