Greccio Housing’s No-Cost Food Pantry has been working with Care and Share Food Bank and other community partners including Trader Joes, Sprouts, Kum & Go, Go Puff, and Food to Power to open a weekly, no-cost grocery store for the residents of our 28 different apartment complexes. The Pantry is available every Wednesday afternoon at our Plaza-on-Platte location and has become a vital resource for residents who can stock up on produce, eggs, dairy, meat, and so much more. Our six year partnership with Care and Share has grown from just a few non-perishables a week, to a full-blown market for our residents.
“Care and Share has really bridged the gap for our residents by providing fresh and nutritious food during times when they are dealing with food insecurity,” says Summer Tungseth, Greccio Resource Manager. “They are vital the success of our mission in offering good, quality food weekly, while Greccio provides safe, stable, and supportive housing for our residents. Care and Share volunteers go above and beyond, catering to the needs of the Community. They are the backbone of Greccio Housing’s No-Cost Food Pantry.”
