I have had the pleasure to work for Care and Share for 7 years. The work that we do allows me to give back to not only my community but also to the people in the 31 counties in Southern Colorado.
I started at Care and Share in the receiving area unloading and loading trucks. I also helped pull orders and help the agencies load their orders.
After the big move from our Aviation location Care and Share picked up another state program called the National School Lunch Program. I soon became the Coordinator for Southern Colorado. It was my job to coordinate the distribution of government food to 100 schools.
I am now the Transportation and Facility manager. I ensure our fleet is always up and running so that we can pick up food from retailers, grocers and farmers as well as organizing the local and outlaying deliveries to our amazing partner agencies.
It is so rewarding to work for such a wonderful organization that does such wonderful things for our friends and neighbors.
