Good morning friends of Care and Share !
Enjoy this month’s volunteer highlight.
The team at Schriever Air Force Base not only changes lives all over the world, but right here in our own backyard. They volunteer on an ongoing basis at Care and Share to help us offload pallets of food from our trucks and sort and box up food in our distribution center. As Master Sergeant Rontrell Boone says, volunteering at Care and Share is “a great opportunity to give back to the local community. No one should go hungry, so we are just glad to be able to help.” Rontrell and the rest of his squadron volunteer by choice because they know that their helping hands truly make a difference in the lives of those in need.
Schriever’s William Nash says, “It’s heartbreaking when you’re seeing those people on the streets and without shelter and a home, and are looking all day for some money to buy some food. It’s nice that you have that facility that you can distribute food to those people.”
Care and Share honors the brave men and women at Schriever Air Force Base in all that they do for our country and all that they do to help their Southern Coloradoans neighbors live better lives. Thank you for sharing our belief that no one should go hungry!
