2016-2017 Empty Stocking Fund

Good morning friends of Care and Share,

We have been a proud recipient agency of the Empty Stocking Fund for more than 20 years, and tomorrow kicks off this important campaign! The Empty Stocking Fund is an annual community fundraiser campaign led by The Gazette to provide resources for 20 health and human service agencies, including Care and Share, in the Pikes Peak Region. The goal this year is to raise $1 million for these agencies!

Left to right: Dan Steever (Publisher,  The Gazette), Lynne Telford (Care and Share’s President and CEO),
Victoria Selfridge (Care and Share Board member), and Mike Ruebenson (Care and Share Board member)
Some important things to note:
  • Every dollar can grow up to 45% thanks to matching grants from El Pomar Foundation and Bruni Foundation.
  • All administrative costs are covered by El Pomar Foundation, The Gazette, Wells Fargo, and Add Staff which means 100% of donations go directly to partner agencies.
  • There are several community events you can participate in that benefit the Empty Stocking Fund. Events range from a skate night at the World Arena to a treasure hunt at Ivywild to the signature “Holiday Culinary Passport” event. Check out Empty Stocking Fund’s website or Facebook page for the latest on events.
  • The campaign runs from Thanksgiving Day-January 20, 2017
