Volunteers are the heart of Care and Share.
Every year, volunteers share more than 47,000 hours of their time to help us get nutritious food to our hunger relief partners and neighbors in need. For that, our gratitude is endless. We depend on volunteers to further our mission—making our vision of a hunger-free Southern Colorado a reality. Individuals, families, kids, and groups all come through our doors to make a difference in their community!
Give your time, your way
Choose the experience that fits your passion! Whether you want to take action at one of our distribution centers, help serve neighbors at a Sunny Side Market, or work directly with our Cooking Matters and SNAP teams, every minute of your time is meaningful.
Distribution centers
Most of our volunteering happens inside our distribution centers. Volunteers help sort and pack food, fill food bags for school kids to enjoy with their families over the weekend, and pick food orders for our hunger relief partners.
Sunny Side Markets
This is a new kind of volunteer experience. We have Sunny Side Market locations in Fountain and Pueblo. Volunteers check-in and check-out shoppers, restock shelves, and help keep the market in tip-top shape!
Cooking Matters
Cooking Matters program that teaches families how to shop for and create healthy meals on a budget. Volunteers are needed to assist in classes, give tours of Farmers Markets, and more. E-mail Hope@careandshare.org to sign up!
Court Ordered Community Service
Looking to fulfill court-ordered community service hours? Help keep our distribution centers clean and safe. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.
Group volunteer experience
We love the incredible support we receive from corporate, community, and faith-based groups, your time and teamwork make a huge difference!
If your group is looking for a fun and meaningful way to give back, we’d love to have you join us at one of our distribution centers, a Mobile Market, or a Sunny Side Market location. It’s a great opportunity to connect with your teammates while helping fight food insecurity in Southern Colorado.
