Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado is excited to welcome a new team member, Joan Selman, as our Major Gifts Director.
Selman has 22 years of experience in fundraising, most recently at Pikes Peak Hospice. Joan has been at the forefront in raising funds to support quality end-of-life care for residents in El Paso and Teller Counties. Her work has contributed to the growth of Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation in the creation and support of special hospice programs that alleviated financial burdens experienced by families. She has overseen fundraising events lauded by many grateful contributors, as well as successfully leading and completing a $7M Capital Campaign to further the reach of hospice and palliative care for the community. Selman also spearheaded the renovation of the Pikes Peak Hospice Meditation Garden at Nancy Lewis Park. Previous to her work at hospice, Joan also worked for the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, IL.
In 2017, Selman was recognized as an Outstanding Fundraising Executive by her peers at the Association of Fundraising Professionals. “I am extremely excited to join the Care and Share team,” said Selman. “The organization’s staff, volunteer corps and leadership collectively makes a huge impact, not only in Colorado Springs, but across all of southern Colorado. To be a part of such good work is simply humbling.
“Care and Share Food Bank is thrilled to have Joan join our dynamic and passionate team. She will bring an abundance of talent and experience to our fundraising team, helping us further our mission and feed more people across southern Colorado” said Lynne Telford, Care and Share CEO.
