Good morning friends of Care and Share!

The holiday season is in high gear! Each year from November 1-December 31, we invite businesses and organizations to participate in a community-wide food and fund drive called CARE DRIVE. It’s simple–collect food, raise money and bring your items to the food bank at the end of your drive. Many participants have been involved in Care Drive for years, such as Ent Federal Credit Union. Enjoy our guest blog post today from one of Ent’s loyal Care Drive supporters!

My name is Lois and I am a Marketing Manager at Ent Federal Credit Union. Ent has participated in the Holiday Care Drive for 17 years, and for 13 of those years I’ve enjoyed the role of coordinating our service center collection. We get the word out with an article in our member newsletter, on our website and in press releases announcing the drive and the total amount collected. Over the years, we’ve raised employee and member awareness of hunger in our community and have been proud to contribute both dollars and food to local families in need.

In addition, we’ve been involved with Take a Turkey to Work Day for seven years, and last month we collected a record 66 turkeys and $2,160 in cash from generous Ent employees – with many donating $10 to wear jeans that day. Talk about the power of denim!

Happy holidays!
