Volunteer with SNAP
SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
SNAP changes lives. You can too.
SNAP, formerly called food stamps, is a government program that helps individuals and families buy the food they need. These benefits help many people stretch their budgets. Money they would normally spend on groceries can now go toward other important needs like medical bills, utilities, and rent.
Here's where you come in
Our SNAP team relies on volunteer support. Volunteers get the training and equipment that's needed to complete tasks performed at home or in-person.
- Chat with neighbors interested in the program over the phone or in-person
- Educate eligible/potentially eligible individuals about the benefits
- Help submit digital applications
- Assist with SNAP outreach at participating partner agency locations
- Keep up to date about SNAP changes
- Advocate for SNAP! Help us spread the word within our communities
“I hear a lot of stories from people who have lost their jobs and live paycheck to paycheck. They're so grateful to get help.”
