Employee Spotlight: Joanna Wise

Every month, we like to introduce one of the many wonderful employees who help Care and Share further its mission.

This month, we are featuring Joanna Wise, our Marketing and Communications Director.

Joanna began her career in broadcast news as a local reporter for KOAA, the NBC affiliate based out of Colorado Springs. In 2017, after about four years of covering stories across Southern Colorado, Joanna joined Care and Share Food Bank as the Marketing and Communications Director. “Care and Share has such a great reputation in the community, and I knew I would be joining a team that leads with purpose and empathy,” she said. “My favorite part about my job is being out in the community and visiting the partners we work with. I believe that telling stories – and giving our neighbors a platform to amplify their stories – is one of the most powerful means we have when it comes to make meaningful change.”

Outside of her day-to-day job, Joanna loves spending time outdoors with her red-heeler pup, Penny. Lately, she’s been a fan of binge-watching k-dramas (if you have any favorite k-dramas to recommend, she definitely wants you to connect with her). Joanna is a member of the Public Relations Society of America – Pikes Peak Chapter, and volunteers with the Children’s Literacy Center. “Getting lost in books was a big part of my childhood, so I hope to be able to pass along my love for reading to the kids I tutor.”

Joanna is looking to gather as many stories as possible highlighting our partners and the neighbors we serve. If you are interested in collaborating, please reach out to her at Joanna@careandshare.org.
