Feeding Colorado Welcomes Legislators to Food Banks and Food Pantries

During the month of August, food banks and food pantries across Colorado hosted state and federal representatives for tours and site visits. At Care and Share, we were happy to host Representative Mary Bradfield at our Sunny Side Market in Fountain (pictured above). Representative Bradfield took a tour of the market and spoke with the team of volunteers.

Congressman Joe Neguse visited Community Food Share in Louisville. During his visit, he hosted a roundtable discussion with partner agency leaders. The group shared how they continue to see a sustained need for the emergency food system in their communities. Coverage of the event can be found here. The roundtable was followed by a tour of the Community Food Share facility and a discussion with the CEO, Kim Da Silva, on food bank priorities.

Members of the Colorado General Assembly are touring food pantries across Colorado through the end of September. These visits provide state legislators the opportunity to see the important services organizations across Colorado provide. Thank you to everyone who has hosted these visits and to the Members of the General Assembly who are visiting!
