Good morning friends of Care and Share!
For more than 15 years, Pat, Ryan and Doug Haug have been collecting food for Care and Share at an annual house party they hold before the holiday season begins. Each year, they establish a theme (this year’s theme was potatoes!) and ask their guests to bring as many boxes, bags, or cans of the theme food as they feel comfortable contributing.
Doug designs personalized invitations each year.
This year, the Haugs and their generous guests donated 379 pounds of potato products (dried mashed potatoes, scalloped potatoes, hashbrowns, etc.) to Care and Share!
They also raised enough money for Care and Share to acquire 13,800 pounds of food, which is the equivalent of 11,500 meals!
When asked what the Haugs get out of their annual parties for good, they say, “We get to see and meet wonderful friends that have taken it upon themselves to help out. We do not ask or keep track of what anyone gives. Your donation is your donation. We just have a lot of fun, and find an excuse to clean the house.”
Thank you so much Pat, Ryan and Doug. We could not do our work without innovative and inspirational partners like you.
And, as always, thank you for reading!
