Story Type: Volunteers
Barbara, a resident of Colorado Springs since 2004, was motivated to volunteer at Care and Share Food Bank after she heard about the programs we offer and how valuable the organization is within the community.
Her main role as a volunteer is to assist Care and Share’s Pueblo and Lower Arkansas Valley Regional Manager with important partner data-entry. Barbara helps keep track of how often Care and Share partner food pantries are used, the number of neighbors utilizing our programs, and who these neighbors area.
When asked to explain her work here, Barbara shared, “To me, it is a very rewarding experience and it is a very rewarding type of work,” She appreciates being aligned with a helping organization like Care and Share and is proud to be able to dedicate her computer skills toward furthering the mission of ending hunger. “I’ve seen people in need and it’s good to know there is an organization like Care and Share to help,” she says.
One of the best parts of volunteering at Care and Share, according to Barbara, is the pleasant people who all make you feel welcome and needed.
