Staff Guest Blogger: Jennifer Mariano

My name is Jennifer Mariano and I am the Programs Director at Care and Share Food Bank. I’ve been with Care and Share since September of 2010. My position oversees seven amazing individuals that manage Agency Relations, the Send Hunger Packing Program, Healthy Kids Club, Summer Food Service Program, Cooking Matters, Senior Breakfast Baskets, Food Safety, The Emergency Food Assistance Program, The Commodity Supplemental Food Program, Community Gardens, and our Community Kitchen. Altogether, my team and I service more than 400 agencies and programs!

The best part of my job is the day-to-day variety (no two days ever look the same) and the amazing people that I work with both at Care and Share and outside of Care and Share through our partner agencies and programs. I regularly travel throughout our service area in Southern Colorado (52,000 square miles to be exact) learning about the incredible work that is being done to help alleviate food insecurity and determining how Care and Share programs and services can provide additional resources to communities. I am truly blessed to be able to work for an organization that allows me to do work that makes a difference in people’s lives every day.

A fun fact about me–my other full time job is mom to four amazing kids ages 19, 17, 14, and 12. I’m also mom to three dogs: Crash, Bolt, and Moose. Never a dull moment!
