Empty Stocking Fund Helps Care and Share Provide Nearly 1 Million Meals

February 7, 2019

The Gazette Charities-El Pomar Foundation Empty Stocking Fund truly transforms lives, and in so many different ways! Care and Share Food Bank is proud to be one of several non-profits in El Paso County to receive a portion of the donations raised.

This is the 35th year that the Empty Stocking Fund has campaigned to raise funds for participating local charities. In 2016, it exceeded its goal to raise $1 million and hoped to do it again this season.  We are excited to share that the ESF team met their goal, raising more than $1.2 million during the 2018-19 campaign. How amazing is that? What makes this campaign even more remarkable is that 100 percent of the funds will go directly to the recipient agencies.

We are grateful for our many years of partnership with the Empty Stocking Fund. We also want to shine a light on the ESF team members who worked hard to raise awareness and funds at dozens of events held throughout the course of the campaign. Because of the success of the campaign, we will be able to provide hundreds of thousands of meals to our neighbors in need. If you donated, thank you! Your gift will make a difference.
